Initially launched in 2022 with pilot schemes in select UK regions, the service expanded nationally in 2023. It provides critical advice on managing gambling-related debt, filling a gap between gambling support and financial guidance.
The evaluation report, compiled by Dr. Xia Lin and Professor Alessio D’Angelo, recognized the service’s effectiveness in helping individuals regain control over their finances. Kathy Wade, the service manager, expressed pride in the team’s impact, particularly amidst the rising cost of living. The service also helped enhance the skills of National Gambling Helpline advisors, enabling better referrals and money guidance.
